Time For A Shave

Time For A Shave

Postby djsaltine » Fri Nov 12, 2004 5:00 pm

Well after long debate about de-badging my car or not, the answer suddenly came to me when I was washing her tonight. The SE on my driver side just came off. That settles it, time for a nice clean shave.

Any suggestions on "how to?"

J/K I already did my searching on the topic.

I hope this was in the right forum. I don't know if it's really considered an "Aftermarket Upgrade."

OK, my bad, I emphasized the wrong syllable when I read it. Sorry.
What would have been the correct way to post this so it wouldn't have been 'pointless'. Some quick pointers would help me out alot. Thanx

...and out of nowhere, Duffman (Oh yeah!) dashes in and tries to steer the conversation back on course.

You're asking what the easiest way to de-badge your car is. Okay, we've got that part down.

I've never done it, so I don't know how they're fastened. You had the SE fall off, so you tell me - glued on, or is it actually connected to the car thru a hole? If it's glued on, get some fishing line (I'd wear gloves on your hands so you don't cut yourself up) and slice it behind the emblems. It should take them off, provided it's a strong enough test of line.

8) It's very easy to do. Just get you some fishing line, double it, then work it back and forth behind the badge. It helps if you can warm the area up first with a hair dryer. You may need to do a little clean up with glue remover once the badge falls off. I've done all three of my cars this way..

Good luck

i also recommend gloves (no one ever mentions that), but after sometime, if u dont heat it up, the dental floss, or fishing line starts getting to u. If u can use a hair dryer, but if u want, i got a heat gun u can borrow. Just hit me up, laterzzz

The fishing line and hairdryer is good. For the rest of the junk (glue) that's left over use bug and tar remover to work it off. Worked great for the emblem I took off.

Shaving

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Nov 14, 2004 7:51 am

Check out my old Solara, (see link below) I wouldn't have had HER any other way. I used floss doubled up, I went through a lot of it but it worked fine. Finished up with some Goo Gone on a paper towel and that was all she wrote. Good luck. Jon.
