hey! i also think it looks like a sc430 spin-off!!

I remember reading a post from Flip that the Solara got it's base look from the old scs (before they turned into giant audi TT looking things =P ) But that would be a huge leap from where the Solara stands right now... making it look like the new sc would be cool, but you'd lose the classic Solara look... I'd be torn between getting a used 'classic' Solara or a SC-ish looking Solara (or buy the SC looking one in a few years when I give my Solara to my younger bro)

since its based on the new camry platform itll probably lose some of its 'sleekness'

one thing i know is the engine is going to be insane. A 240hp 3.3Liter v6. The ES300 will be moved up to the ES330, along with the RX330.

i doubt that engine will make it to the '04, maybe a year or two down

imagine that toyota, in their race to match up w/ honda's new accord engine, decide to remodel the solara to look like the accord coupe... HELLA FRICKING UGLEEEEEEEEEE! wouldn't that be sad? =\

I think they'll have it ready for 2004 with the new body style. Although Toyota/Lexus aren't known for speed they are going to get killed if they dont upgrade the engine. Maxima has 255, Altima has 240, Accord has 240.
