If the car is an auto, there's about 18-20% loss to the wheels. If it's manual the % is less but i don't know how exactly.

im callin bullshit on that.. due to the fact that the gauge when under boost had 4 psi reading.. so if thats wrong, then theres teh fact that he doesn't have headers, and probably has a real restrcitive exhaust... I think he put the s\c on, looked at the pulley boys numbers on how much you SHOULD have due to the bigger pulley...

basically hes "full of sh*t"

Notice you don't see a dyno slip. What a lot of people do is take the hp the car was rated at and add all of the claims for hp gains for their bolt-ons and come up with that number to the flywheel. The problem is, there is NO WAY you can do that accurately. Most of the time, you don't see the power gains the manufacturers claim. Also combinations make a difference. Sometimes adding 2 parts will give more than part 1 or 2 separately but they could also give less than the 2 separately. The only real way to state a car's performance is on the dyno.-JoeB

Its actually much higher. I'd say more like 25%

Manual is less 10-15%

well dyno could cheat too. unless the person specify the temperature and what octane they use. We often see some cars with crazy hp in the magazine, that was the result of cheating too. They put lots of ice on the intercooler or some crazy big fans and high octane to get such good number. I got this information from someone i knew who works in a famous shop "__ engineering" which often runs dyno for magazines. My friend also try to dyno his car in the summer day time and night time, he got about a 20hp difference. with higher octane, he gets about 40hp more, one the wheel. So i think it is very important to specify the octane and temperature of testing.
