can someone help me learn toyota engine codes and chasis codes. i freakin know more honda engine and chasis codes than i do toyota. a website or a post wit the car and codes would be helpful.......thanx!!!

While we're here discussing codes, learning paint codes is fun, too.

For example, silverstream opalescent is 1C4. I don't think Toyota uses it on Solaras anymore---the silver color is now the Lunar Mist Metallic seen on the Camrys.

Wrong.

Engine Code = 1MZ-FE - 3.0L V6 DOHC EFI(MZ Series of engine family, F=head, E=EFI
Chassis Code = MCV20 (Camry, Solara, ES300)

Go to www.toysport.com it will give a brief overview of chassis codes, engine family and model destination as well as the explanation of F and G series heads.

For the Gen4 Camry platform which the Solara is based on:

4cyl Models
97-01 - SXV20, 5S-FE
02-03- ACV20, 2AZ-FE (Solara only)
02-up- ACV30, 2AZ-FE

V6 Models i.e. Camry, Solara & ES300
97-01 - MCV20, 1MZ-FE (MCV20 for 02-03 Solara)
02-up- MCV30, 1MZ-FE

Super White - 040
Diamond White Pearl - 051

what about 3.0L V6 with VVT-i ones? I think ES300's have it, don't they?

Still the same 1MZ-FE. Advanced engine electronics and components don't affect the engine code unless it's a boosted application or what have you.

The VVTI ES300 is from 99 and up.

Also to add on to that 00 Avalon, 99 and up ES300, 01 and up Highlander V6 model, 00 and up Sienna and 99 and up RX300.
