http://www.trdnw.com/cat_turbo_performance.html

Nice! I'm sure it will be real close. Only think I hate about our Solara is that it's heavier than the 4 door Camry. Torque will also be a factor. Does your car have more torque? I'm sure yours does too.

its funny. i'll have my gameface on and roll up beside someone at a red light and rev it and make the blowoff with my mouth. and i keep a totally straight face. and then when they drive normal i let them creep ahead and then i slowly roll by them going pssssssheeeWWW! and planted in my seat (but going slow)

ive actually done this with a friend and hes like planted in his seat and screaming "got him got him! yur pulling on him! cmon hit boost!" while barely try to pass them. this only works if the guy beside you has his window down with the music off or something.
soon im going to have to go jap style and get some racing gloves and maybe a suit, a large helmet would be sweet too. with a PA system for the turbo sounds.

Or you're a freaking idiotic teenager who removed his air filter - and the entire assembly for it - because it would get him more power? Dude, if you're fooling people by making "whoosh" sounds... you must live in a "special" place.

i believe that the extra weight comes from the longer doors on the solara vs 4 lighter doors on the Camry. The longer doors might have more support. Also, I read somewhere that the Solara was a couple or so inches longer than a Camry... When the Greddy Evo was on Kondos car, it looked super short. When we placed it on mine, it flared out and is flush with the bumper.

I thought about the door, but in fact i dont think the 4 doors are lighter then 2 doors. The reason is that although the each doors of the seden are lighter than coupe's, but they all have power window and locking device in the door. That would add weight instead. Beside that, the interior door panel for sure are heavier then the solara rear inerior panel as well. Does camry xle has side impact airbag?

what is camry's gross weight?

I personally think this is a interesting discussion

hmmm good point on the power/window weight adders. I was only thinking of 1 door vs a door on the solara since the solaras longer door needs a longer heavier side impact beam. No, the XLE I have does not come with side airbags and it doesnt even have the chip in the ignition like the solaras do. Hmmm... still wondering where all the added weight comes from esp since the solara looks to be lighter.
