dealer said they had just replaced the brakes and they make that noise when they are new. i am ready to call "shens" though since i have become accustomed to replacing brake pads whenever squeaking arises out of my brakes. was he telling the truth or should i get my brakes looked at? i just purchased the car last friday.

No grinding? sounds like the mechanic forgot to put on that pad gease. Goto another mechanic, they usaully do free brake inspections.

Chances are the car sat for a while and the rotars rusted.. take it to a car wash and hit the pads real good once with the spray wand..

Sometimes dealers do a quick pad swap... I did those for years.. If the rotars were not turned before the pads were replaced and they have a little warp they will tend to make noise..

Since you just bought the car I would demand that they fix them right as it is a safety item!!! If you are persistant they will do it for free...
