i have gen 1 solara se i4 and today i was opening the sunroof and for the first time it hesitated and than with a big thud it opened. this was the first time this happened. i was wondering does this happen because i just installed my sunroof deflector? is it just me or is there a bigger thud when opening the sunroof with the deflector. .

when in doubt, just grease the teeth of the sliders. I usually first use a can of compressed air and then use the greesesprays!

No, that won't last. Go to your local auto parts store and tell them to recommend some grease for your sun roof track and door locking devices. They have several types, most in a tube. Just get a small acid or paint brush and apply it lightly.
