engine noise..

i have about 40 k on my 00 i4 solara and i was wondering if there was a way to make my engine little more quiter. i bought the car couple months ago and i can't tell if this car went through the 36k mile service, is there anyway where i can find out? and also what consist of 36k mile service? can this be done by my self? thankx.

It is normal for 5sfe to make alot of noise. however, if your idle is rough and cosume alot of gas, it is a sign of need valve adjustment.

You have nothing to worry about. 5SFE is justa noisy engine that shakes alot.

If you dont know if maintenance was done at 30K, just get the coolant changed and you should be good until 60k other than oil changes, and tires and brakes if they wear.
