Spots on plexiglass surface from leather conditioner

Postby SirMacDaddy » Fri Jun 17, 2005 2:43 pm

Ive got this problem...I used leather conditioner on my steering wheel and some of it sprayed onto the plexiglass surface covering the gauges...now there are these stubborn white specks all over that I cannot remove...I tried using everything but it seems to go away for a second and then magically reappear. Is there any advice on how to remove those spots??

i noticed a white haze that wont wash off over my gauge shield thing.

i think i just wiped it with an armor-all cleaner wipe that i had used on some of the dash and plastic and stuff. (works great on leather!).

i got other things to worry about, but i thought i'd let you know yur not alone

the gauge cover scratches very easily. the haze may be lots of small scratches. i use a product called blue magic plastic and plexiglass cleaner on delicate stuff like that, including headlights and taillights. it cleans it nice and fills in a lot of the small imperfections.

Try taking a clean soft cloth like a piece of a t-shirt, and rub it very lightly with ordinary toothpaste. Toothpaste has a very mild abrasive in it that polishes plastic like new. Use the same common sense you would use about waxing your paint. Meaning don't let it dry out. Don't press too hard either.
