Keyless entry

Hey i got the usual keyless entry that everyone has on their Solara's, and for some random reason it wont lock or unlock the driver door, therefore not flashing the lights properly... whats wrong?

weird
if you got it installed aftermarket take it back to the shop...
otherwise no idea, check with toyota

how old is the remote? maybe the battery needs to be replaced.

doubt it, why would it only work on one door if that were the case?

is it just opening one door? i didn't realize he just said drivers..hummm...well..click it twice and see if the passenger door opens. if it does, then it's not the battery. i'd think it would be some kinda transmitting problem from the remote to the car if that's the case.

if you can lock and unlock the doors from inside (using the lock/unlock switch on your door) then something is wrong with the keyless entry module. take it back to toyota. perhaps the drivers door got disconnected somehow.

yea i work at toyota so i'll have someone look at it but i've been soo busy at work i have a hard time getting it in...... and by the way if any of you need stock parts i can get it at discount so let me know...thanks for the replies

Hey Krooked.... unfortunatly i cant get TRD stuff my dealer doesnt deal withTRD anymore, cause they never told anyone when sumthing was discontinued and it would take months to get parts in.. Sorry

Which Toyota dealership do you work at? I'd like a connection when it comes time to buy normal Toyota things, oil filters, etc. Im in Baltimore County btw. Jon.

It looks like I might have the same problem you're describing...

I have a 99' SLE which came with the keyless entry. A few months ago the driver's side keyless entry wouldn't work, but the passenger's does. I've listened closely and the lock mechanism is activating on the driver's side door. So I know the lock is working but am maybe thinking either the mechanism that actuates the lock has become disconnected possibly, or maybe even broken? I'm not quite sure. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it?

you know..this kinda sounds like the problem i had tonight..the passenger door opened, but the driver's wouldn't. it seemed like it was frozen, but i don't know.

it's gotta be electrical, right?

I really don't know what it is. It's hard to figure out because I can hear the mechanism attempting to active the lock. The same goes for the inside automatic locks. Though win I use the key to lock/unlock the door it works fine. ??? When I get the car back from the shop I think I'm just going to take off the panel and see what's going on...

Well i had a technician at my dealer look at it and he said i needed a new door lock asembly so i had them order one... i'm still waiting to get it put in.. adam
