I paid almost that much for just a gasket at the stealership. :x I thought our trans had a screen, not a changeable filter. Correct me if wrong.

bassthrive, I think your correct on that one. The reason is that I tried replacing the filter when I had the ATF fluid changed on the AUTO. The dealership (which doesn't sell Toyota's anymore) replied that the filter is just a screen and the process of cleaning it was just spraying it down. :drinking:

You can change the screen filter on alot of Toyotas, I haven't cracked open an A140E yet, but on the A131L and A241L I know that you can for sure. AutoZone doesn't list a filter for you V6 guys, I will try to check All-Data at school today and see if it's a replaceable screen or not.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

I agree. I'm pretty sure the filter is a cleanable screen, though you'd still need a gasket when changing out the tranny fuild.
