Has anyone attempted to paint the silver molding that boarders around the side windows of their solara?

The silver has always caught my attention. It just stands out everytime i looke at my car. IMHO i just think that the car's overall appearence would be more appealing if the silver molding were to be painted black or painted to match the car's color.

Can anyone try photoshopping it? And post before and after pictures?

Just vinyl over it. If you don't like it, rip the vinyl off. If something happens to the vinyl, replace it. I know a lot of people that have done it to other cars (i.e. '96 Impala) with great success.

You'll probably want the adhesive-backed vinyl. You can cut it yourself or get the sign shop to do it. To apply, I'm pretty sure you just clean/dry the surface, then apply. You may need a heat gun and squeegee to make sure it wraps around the edges and there are no bubbles in it.
