Dyno Tuning in So. Cal

Dyno Tuning in So. Cal

Postby indiglosolara » Tue Aug 23, 2005 11:37 pm

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to bring my car to get dyno tuned..

I'm currently running the Injen SR Intake with greddy cat-back exhaust with the resonator and piping modified. I just want to make sure that my car is running correct with this set-up and other misc parts i have installed. This way i know that im not running to lean or to rich.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Kenny

California Motor Sports "CMS" (formerly Harv's Performance Ctr)
(562) 907-7834
12221 Rivera Rd
Whittier, CA 90606
Ask for Scottie or James they are the motor geniuses they fixed up my S/C install when that other guy ****ed it up, Marvin is the owner. These guys do "everything" with performance Dyno, S/C, turbos, anything performance from Hondas to Ferrari's

They open early and close late and they now have experience with Solara's, I found out about them on SuperStreet Magazine online

it is depend on what device you want to get tuned. just make sure they have nomerous experience about the tunning. But i dont think you need tunning becasue what you had done is minor mode, the gain you see wont be that much. it is kind of waste money (piggy back + tunning) ususally tunning start at $150 set up fee, and $100-$200 per additional hours. I spend $450 tunning at autolink and it was not that great, but i think because i was there at bad time...which is the tunner's lunch hour and his date was waiting for him.

kenny, after adding all the mods, reset the ecu and have it correct for the add-ons. After that, go dyno tune it.

VVT-i engines are a bitch if you forget to reset the ecu

well after each mod i've reset the ECU. However i have a feeling im running too lean with the Injen Intake. So thats why i wanna get my car dyno tuned to comfirm my own results.

I think ill call JPP and see what they can do for me. Also i might look into the headers by JPP while im at it.

Thanks..

injen SRT + exhaust will run lean on the 2AZ regardless of ecu resetting. The JPP will even it out slightly but you may need to:

get rid of the injen for a KN

-or-

get the a/f controller from the place jpp sends you to dyno

Whats the Damage of running too lean with the injen and exhaust in long term factors???

im just trying to determine wheather i should take the injen off and run the stock air box with k&n filter or even the TRD filter.

low fuel amounts will cause the engine to run hotter and may cause the piston rings to burn, and then you will get 'blow-by' or burnt rings/head/pistons/etc

Call me for more info. I'll be back from lunch at 415PM PST
