P0171 again!!

P0171 again!!

Postby ChargedSolara » Wed Sep 28, 2005 4:41 pm

Hey guys..i got sick of my cars popping codes so i picked up an OBDII scanner..they are on sale at autozone btw.

anyways my solara pulled the p0171 code, i referenced some old threads and checked out the symptoms..my car was running 5.5 psi b4 my tranny went out..during the rebuild i lowered boost back to stock 4psi. cleared the code and 200 miles later code pops up again. i just replaced o2 sensor less than a year ago, last time i pulled it out it was white which means lean.

so my question is...any other solutions to the problem? i do have the injen short ram but never had a problem for the 3 years i've had it on. maybe my MAF? heres the code set from haynes manual.

thanks!

P0171 – System too lean
· Loose air intake hose or duct
· Incorrect fuel line pressure
· Obstruction in injector
· Heated oxygen sensor malfunction
· MAP or MAF sensor malfunction
· ECT sensor malfunction

Maybe you should consider upgrading your fuel system. . . With bigger injectors and fuel pump. . . retune the S-AFC

check and make sure that you have a suction coming from the front valve cover hose.. it should be a suction.. if its not then you have damaged internals and blowby

I get the same problem with mine. Seems to get less as atime goes by. I've only had the charger on about a week and stock 4lbs with CAI. First 1-2 days the CEL would pop up at least 1-2 times each day with the p0171 code. I've got a realtime OBD2 scanner/gauge thing that lets me read and clear codes on the fly so i cleared it as soon as it poped up. So far I havent gotten it today, hope it doesnt bother me for a while.
