is it brand, brand new? like with no miles? if so, drive nicely. don't bring the RPM's up over 3000, and don't go over 60 mph according to the "break-in" period.

leave the o/d button off. only use it around high speeds.
i use supreme techron at Chevron, but super will do just fine for you.

also, make sure you roll the windows down so everyone can so who is pimpin' it on the block.
always have a ready middle finger to show those haters and those who loose in a race to you.

have fun and welcome to the boards!

First of all welcome. You don't need higher octane for your 4cylinder car...you are wasting your money if you do. 87 is all you need. Your owners manual is a wealth of information if you want to really learn about your car...specifically what fuels to use and how to use the O/D switch.

I4 stands for inline 4...the design of your engine and how many cylinders it has.

my car is brand new, it had les than 50 miles on it when i bought it.
so far, the gas that i use is the regular one at chevron. is that good enough?
technically, what is the "break in" period?

Yes the gas you are using is great. Just make sure you stick to only one or 2 brands. Chevron is what I would recommend.

Break in period is usually first 500 miles...but I always use 1000 miles as a rule of thumb. Just make sure you keep it at 60 or below...and try your best not to let the engine speed get above 3k RPM. Just take it easy those first few hundred miles.

Good Luck!
