in the wiring list i have, i have locations of wires listed in fuse boxes 1-7. the problem is that i dont know which number is which fuse box. is there a regular convention that is used

No, I don't remember them being numbered, as in having a number promiently stamped on them. Who made your wiring diagram?

If I recall correctly for the Gen1, there's one under the coin box, one near the intake/battery, one next to the coolant recovery tank (ONLY for the ABS Solenoid) and probably one more somewhere else.

With that in mind, that's 3 confirmed and 1 that I'm not sure exsists or not (4), so 7 seems kinda odd.
