Replacing parts of dash with diff. color

Replacing parts of dash with diff. color

As far as I'm aware, there were two interior color schemes for the gen 1 solara (charcoal and beige). If have the beige interior. I drove a VW passat the other day with a similar interior color, but I liked the fact that the VW had beige with a large amount of black all over the dash and on the window sill. Anyone know if its possible to swap the darker portions of the dash (kind of a greyish/brown color) from the beige interior with the black dash panels from the charcoal interior? Also, does anyone know how much it would cost?

Thanks

While I can't speak to if it's possible, I would have to believe that OEM interior parts are ex-pen-sive.

'course, if you really like the look and you have the money, why not?

I dont see why its not possible, as long as u stay within the same generation.

I wouldnt do it unless you can find a solara in a junkyard though. This is not stuff you want to be getting from the dealer.

And I think it would look tacky unless it was all coordinated. THe Passat probably looks good because it was thought out at the get-go to be two-toned black and beige.

Well, the beige interior is already almost 2-toned; the stereo/HVAC area, shifter and E-brake handle is already black, and I was having a crazy idea of keeping the airbag beige and the steering wheel itself black just for a "sportier" look (AND the fact that the beige leather wrapping is severely tarnished and black would conceal this... I'm lazy).

Dont forget if you do the dash you would have to do the top part of the doors and the back interior panels by the passenger seat. That I could see costing way too much.
