tiny floating things in coolant

I store my solara in the winter.. and today on my weekly startup I noticed that the coolant resiviour had some floating things in it... along with that it had what looked like little grains of sand in there also on the sides.. the coolant res. had about a half inch of fluid in there....

is any of this an issue that would need to be tended 2?

When i used to store my celica for the winters, there were tiny brown particles floating after winter storage (which i assumed was radiator internal rust)....it was somethign that flushing would resolve. But when you state something that resembled grain sand?? I've got no clue??
