Leather

I once read that the leather on the SLE V6 is perferated and a little nicer than the SE v6 leather. Is this true?

I'm looking into 2 tone leather, but another option was buy a leather interior from a junk yard.

that's the biggest hoax in the world. That's just like me saying I have 10 more hp on my car because it's manual. lol. Well wait...that's actually more than true when we're talking front wheel HP. 172 manual vs. 153 auto. :D

See what you started, Flip?

If anything, I dislike perforated leather. when you apply the leather cleaner, it's hard to keep it from filling in the little perforations and looking crappy. I'm going to try those wipes and see if they do any better.

well, you said "nicer". that's objective, isn't it? I don't much care for the look of my leather seats in my camry. i'd like to trade them out eventually.

Just to confirm what everyone else said, the leather in the SE V6 is the same as in the SLE, as long as the SE V6 came with leather from the factory. The only reason the leather would be different in the SE V6 was if the dealer installed leather themselves, which I have seen. Then you probably wouldn't get the nice perforated leather.

I'm not a real fan of leather...I prefer cloth myself. BUT perforated leather is more comfortable to sit on for long periods of time compared to the leather I had to deal with in the Avalon. Talk about slip and slide around corners!

I use and recommend Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner Protectant. Keeps the leather nice and soft and it doesn't leave a greasy/oily residue like the others.

BTW, I have Side Airbags on my factory Ivory perforated leather. :D

you know..that scares the hell outta me. i usually drive w/ my right hand and rest my left elbow on the window (or i'll drive w/ my left hand and rest my hand on the gear shifter)

i checked my manual after the accident to see why the airbags didn't go off (just missed the sensors :P ) and it had a warning not to rest your arm anywhere near the side b/c of the side airbags :o

i have airbag phobia..i try to sit as far from the steering wheel as possible! big heels help!
