You should be able to change the bulbs without having to remove the battery. I know exactly what you mean about it being a pain though. Make sure you don't touch the glass on the bulb. If you still can't get it then take the battery out, but its unnecessary

It was a pain in the ass for me, the battery was in the way too much so I moved it and just put the headlight in and than replaced the battery.

You shouldn't really need to move the battery to change your bulbs, but it'd be much more easier if that was done. Definately move it when you're adjusting them though. It's just one screw, and all you need to do is push the battery back just a little bit.

You know what? I thought it wasnt much of a change too, but after friends and relatives of mine saw my car at night or when I'm driving behind them they asked me if I ever had someone get upset at me for aiming high beams at them. And one told me that they were too white. Oh well

Hmm... could be the fact that you may need to adjust them to for them to look even.

i think it's supposed to be like that. the driver's side and pass. side are not at the same level. it's not a significant notice, but it's there.

There should be a right hand flare on DOT headlamps. If you park your car perpendicular to a wall, the pattern should look like this.

__/ __/

Of course, the flare's are not as dramatic as my picture, but it's there. That is used to light up the signs along the side of the road at night here in the States.

BTW, both sides are to be leveled. For more info, get a Haynes/Chilton manual for that

The angle of the bulbs affect how the color of the light looks, since the bulb may light up different parts of the headlamp compared to the less-yellow side.
