dust coming through vents

dust coming through vents

Recently I've been having the problem of dust and dirt coming through my airvents. I notice it mostly when I drive over a pile of leaves in the road, its almost as if it gets sucked up through the air system. Is there/should there be a filter somewhere to prevent this? Is there a place where I could rig a filter in place?
Anyone else ever have this problem?
In case it matters I have a 99 SLE

wear a face mask

just let your vents blow and blow one day until most of it is out... have a vacuum available to clean up afterwards

Sadly, the filter is only available on the Gen2's (bad for me; I have allergies AND it's the only thing I miss about having my SenCrap), but my recommendation is to switch it to recirculation before you see the leaves or while you drive, but remember to leave it in fresh air when you park (If you keep circulation on all the time, the air would eventually stink up)
