Idle Question

Idle Question

Postby WunLoudSolara » Sat Apr 22, 2006 2:28 pm

I need to raise my idle through the ECU. I've raised it manually but it always returns back to 650-750RPM's. Does anyone know if it is possible to go into our ECU with a computer and change the idle speed?

I would say no, at least not without alot of expense. The idle is set at the factory for emissions reasons. Why do you need to raise it, just out of curiosity?
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

My Alternator doesn't kick on till 800-850 RPM's, stock is 650-750. I have a 2 1/8" pulley on it and I can't find a smaller pulley for our type of alternator.

Hmm I have a similar issue but its through the supercharger. specially when I have my AC on my idle drops too low and chokes the car. The SC has to spin more.
