EGR flow insufficient

EGR flow insufficient

I got a CEL and pulled a 401 EGR flow insufficient. I had this same problem last year, and decided to test the same part that failed last year first, the VCV (vacuum control valve) its a little purple and black widget under the black cover on the top of the 1mz-fe. p/n 90925-03193.
Well, it's the same damn part that failed AGAIN after one year under the hood. it kinda pisses me off to have to replace this $80 piece of plastic again. Although the troubleshooting process took 10 minutes instead of 4 hours.
has anyone else had a similar problem?

Check vaccuum lines on the intake manifold and the egr valve itself.

That part failed on me about 8 months ago. Yea was a little ticked that a tiny peice of phenolic plastic was $99 at Autozone.
