Earlier today, I test drove a 2003 SLE Convertible 3.0 V6. In the engine compartment, I noticed what looked like dried up oil on the front drivers side of the engine (I guess the head or valve cover). What could this possibly be? Could the valve cover gasket have possibly leaked? The car has about 80K miles.

well if it is right below the valve cover, than it is valve cover gasket leaked. no big deal really. just clean it up and see if it leaks again.
