Solara's Secret Switch?!?!

Solara's Secret Switch?!?!

Postby ChiTownSolara » Sun Feb 16, 2003 8:43 pm

well, when i was installing my new reverse indiglow gauges on my '99 SLE yesterday, i came across some kind of a switch all the way at the bottom left of the drivers footwell. its like a foot away from the brake pedal on the left hand side and it has a red sheath over it. now i was thinking and i cant figure out what its for. it switches up and down.. (on/off??) well when i switch it, nothing seems to happen with the car so i have no idea what its for. maybe secret power switch?? (j/k) anyways, i was just wondering if this switch is on all solaras, or maybe its just mine. any comments or replies would be greatly appreciated. thanx!

heres a link to the site, they got an anamation of how the guages look at night and during the day. these guages are waaaay better than the regular indiglows! http://www.procarparts.com/store/displa ... 9701-RIG-2

installation was rough though, took me and a friend like 3 hours to position the guages and get everything hooked up[/img]

Yea it is the valet switch for your alarm. Lets you disable/enable it but only if you do a certain sequence. Hit unlock, put the car to on postition, hold switch for 5 seconds.

yea, it looks like they would fit, but for automatic solaras only. personally i think the ones with the color in the middle gives them a little more flare, and they stand out more to passengers in your car. mine swith from blue to green.
