Stock head unit but new amps

Stock head unit but new amps

Postby chemicalyaltered » Sun Jul 02, 2006 6:02 am

Hey guys. Im driving an 03 lara. Im trying to hook up a sub amp and hopefully later new speakers. Here is the problem. I have the JBL system, with the seperate "amp". I would like to keep the stock headunit (no reason to advertize). But I would like to bypass the amp compleatly. Does anyone know what the colors of the wires going into the amp mean. There is a 12 pin and an 18 pin connector. It seems to me that they purpously made this complicated by using the same color wires over again. Any help would be muck apperciated.

humm, i dont think ive heard a solution for this. I have a line level converter that takes the already JBL amped speakers wires them into RCAs and then sends it out. Ive used it for my sub install. can maybe be used for your speaker amp/speaker install? I just bought a new HU and using the stock speakers, sounds fine to me...
