Engine rebuild

Postby Red » Wed Oct 18, 2006 12:28 pm

Did a search but didn't find much.

Was going to rebuild my engine on the 99 v6 solara I have and was wondering if any one has any good info on the 1mz engine? Where is a good place to buy internals parts for pretty cheap but high quality? what is the farthest you can bore out the block? Any help would help from those that have done this before. This will be my winter project, and I am thinking of turbing it in the future. This is my first rebuild, So the more info I have the better.

Thanks in advance

Meaning good quality for a lower then retail price. kinda like shopping on the internet and comparing prices for the best price. same product but lower price at different store.

1MZ engine rebuilding

I rebuild these engines quite a bit for people who blow them up using too much boost. Anyway, the largest overbore I have seen is the 1st size over. I can get high quality coated oversize or standard piston and ring sets for about $350 a set plus shipping if you can't find them locally.

Sorry to hijack, but PDX, how much boost were these people running who blew their engines and what kind, if any fuel management were they using?
