Ebrake light

Ebrake light

Postby sbsolara84 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 11:07 am

I did a search and didn't find anything...

Do you guys know why the ebrake light occasionally turns on while driving?

The e-brake is off, made sure of that many times.

it often goes on when i accelerate hard.

No mods to the engine, brake, or tranny.

it's been ongoing for a couple of days now, thought i should check it out just in case.

I know it means something, and your owners manual will tell you... I think it may mean your brakes need to be checked, but I cannot remember off the top of my head...
I know someone on here can provide a positve answer to this question....

the same thing happened to me a month ago, it usually means that your brake fluid is low.. add brake fluid and u should be fine.. if not then there is something wrong with your brake system.. get it checked out asap..

theyre all right. just add some brake fluid and the light will go away. now the reason for you needing brake fluid is b/c your pads are probably a lil low and the piston pushes the pad to the rotor b/c its wearing down a lil. check your pads and make sure that theyre not extremely low (which theyre probably not that bad yet) and that should solve your prob. in conclusion...just add brake fluid and after such a big job have yourself a :drinking:
almost there...what do you think?

So I went to the mechanic and he said it's a sensor.
Brake fluid fine and plenty of pads left.
