i think there is a total of 5 small screws, 3 on top, and two on bottom which is a paint to reach, if you have the proper socket and extension and WD40, you should be ok, i really don't know how to service the egr valve, it just has a tiny plastic rod sticking out. replacement for an OEM geninue toyota egr part cost around $160 to $180 online at www.toyotaoemparts.com, i would recommend getting two metal egr valve gaskets replace as well incase it might leak air if you reuse the old gaskets.

Update! I replaced the EGR Valve ( Auto Zone $169.00 ) It seems to have fixed the problem.
