That my friend is a dreamer. There is NO WAY that car has 340hp to the wheels. That is unless he forgot to mention a LOT of mods. -JoeB

If the stock motor is 200HP (at the flywheel) and he is adding 9 psi boost, the HP at the flywheel will be 200 + 200 x (9psi/14psi) = 328. Assuming you loose 20% through loses in the drivetrain (it's probably more) you would end up with around 260 at the wheels.

I'm interested in your math... HP = StockHP + (StockHP * (S/Cpsi / EngineCompression)) does that give a very accurate estimation? I've always been under the impresstion that the Engine's compression ratio was not DIRECTLY related to the HP.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

Thats not engine compression, its air pressure ( 1 ATM). Supposedly at 14.3psi ( i think on the .3) the horsepower is doubled. I think we are 10.5 :1 Compression anyways (11:1 for 4cyl?)

I can't comment on the accuracy of that equation. If it's true, doubling the horsepower would only be possible if you could increase the fuel enough to maintain the proper air/fuel mixture. Even increasing the boost to 9psi would require a lot of extra fuel to keep his engine from running too lean and risk blowing it up. I don't see any mention of bigger injectors or a different fuel pump in his list of mods. If this guy really knew what he was talking about, you'd think he'd mention those.
