Mazda3 s w/ Sport Package - look....

Mazda3 s w/ Sport Package - look....

So I was leafing through the Feb 2004 Maxim that I just got in the mail.
I left it on my desk cover down, and noticed the Mazda3 s w/ sport package sittin on the back. now is it just me, or does the front facsia look alot like a mix of the Gen 1.5 and Gen 2 Solara?

If you wanna see this picture, its linked below. I think its the same picture from the ad, but its just mirrored. (The ad itself has "No Way." written on the left side, with the "No" torn out, incase you want to find it in another mag)

The grill is between the sizes of the Gen 1.5 and Gen2, but it looks alot like the 1.5's. Headlamps look much like the Gen2's, but less drawn out. The hoodlines match the Gen2's almost exactly. Round fogs and a large grill between them look Gen2ish too. I'm aware that the Mazda 3 is a sedan, and its a compact, but the front looks very Solara to me. Anyone else see it, or am I just seeing Solara everywhere?

I could liken the rear to a chromed-out corolla, but I wont go there.

like xravexboix said, they all look like that now a days. Car companies are always taking design cues off of each other.
