So I took my car into toyota because I was getting blow by out the Valve Cover Hose, and they said that my #4 cylinder was leaking 50% which is just nuts... and they said that since I had those rings put in by another shop (which they recommended me to use, their sub-contractor) that they had nothing to do w\ this other than they would give them a call to see if they would do it for free... SO now im stuck w\ either this local machine shop saying tough $hit, or actually paying for it... pretty $hitty... some friends of mine are recommending taking them to a small claims court... because its all their fault since they didn't hone the cylinder walls correctly... thought I would give an update... I had Chrome Gapless rings from total seal in there... and from the start they never sealed up.. so.. Im going to call and rip some as ses tonight so ill re post later

I talked to the local machine shop and they said that they would look at the block but it had to be out of the engine, which is the hard part... and Toyota said they don't want to do anything w\ it... Toyota did do a leak down test for free today tho.. they tested the front bank of cylinders only tho.. and the #2 cylinder was leaking 25%, #4 was 50%, and #6 was 25%, which means that over all none of the rings set correctly... I told the machine shop this and they gave me the same line, we need to look at everything to make sure its not a valve or seomthing... so... Which doesn't make sense because the leak down test would only test the piston and rings.. so.. they are still trying to get my as$... so.. anyone have any helpful info? Luckly my father was a lawyer, and just happened to be at one of the biggest, if not the biggest, lawfirms in Omaha.. so I have lots of connections.. I may have to take them to a small claims court.. so.. we will see... but does anyone know how to, or have a DIY on how to drop the v6 engine out? If worst comes to worst, I may just do it myself w\ a friend... thanks
Scott
p.s. Im going to fight this hardcore because I didn't do anything wrong here... its all them... and I can be a major pain in the as$ w\ money issues

great now the Machine Shop isn't going to give me the information that I want. Every Machine Shop (except the $hitty ones) keeps a book of information for every engine that they work on. Which says how they gaped the rings etc. etc. .. but now the guy is being an as$ and not giving me the information that I need... because he is scared im sure... so im going to show up on friday and demand that he gets it while im standing there... I was thinking about getting a news channel to go down there and cover my story, and say how the business has bad work ethics and doesn't stand by their machine work... anyone think it would work?
anyone have any ideas?

Just get the lawyers. If the lawyers fail to scare him, get the news as a last resort. No one wants a bad rap on the tv news.

tough break, that really sucks that the block is screwed, hope everything works out. One of my big concerns about getting the supercharger at 100k was I would get too much oil blow by the rings, but so far I'm good. The local mechanic I go to has done in chassis ring jobs and he said he did one for a Camry that had the oil gel problem. He said the job would cost aroung $1800 if I ever need it.

yeah I hope this all goes well... Im sure it will, but its a pain forcing companys to do things... I really wish they would just admit fault rather than try to get me to go away w\ the comments and things... I mean really... I may be just an 18 year old... but it doesn't mean u can just push me over... Kinda sucks, but ill get it figured out I hope
