messed up my car, need help

i love my car and all but earlier today i was an assshole and took an onramp that i use everyday faster than usual. i ended up losing control and going over the curb, popped my 2 left tires. I didnt hit anyone or any rails or barriers. Turned the car around and pulled over and turned it off. when i tried to restart it tho, it wouldnt and had to get towed. Its wierd tho, maybe a short? Hopfully someone can help me. When i try to start it, it makes that noise when the starter is broken. No cranking, just a clicking noise. There is power going to everything at the normal rate, how ever when i try to start it the lights dim lower than normal and my cap in the back just makes a contants beep noise. Is there a reset switch anywhere? I have a 2002 SE. could this be a short or did i do some serious damage? any help would be greatly appreciated fellas.

you hear click but didnt crank thats means the starter is not working. Either you break it or just cable/or ground wire loose.

I second the starter. Also when you hit a curb at high speed, your axle or even your crossmember will get bent. Check your car's alignment!

Off topic: At my work site a few months ago when some guy with an slightly tricked Eclipse has ceased functioning after the car had stopped for a couple hours. The engine couldn't crank. He insisted that it was that extremely corroded battery's problem because he has to use high beam to see the road (low beam was too dim he said) and he thought he forgot to turn it off. Then he called his boss, who is a 60 year-old, and asked him to jump the car. The boss didn't know any better and proceeded to put the positive cable on each end and negative cable on each end!!! That pretty much was asking for an explosion. It didn't work, so the boss suggested replacing a starter. Few days later he bought one from all-tow-xone and I hadn't see that car moving for a month, until it got towed. Bottom line? Diagnose the problem by a MECHANIC, not a 60 year old company boss! Genuine parts are also important!

Check the battery. I've heard that clicking sound and some guys i work with who work at ford said it was my starter as well, but we just jumped it and it worked.

I hope you haven't had a chance to do anything with the statement above yet. The GROUND wire is always the NEGATIVE one.

btw, sorry to hear about the accident, mate.
