ummm..right now i use the same one..i used to go to HESS, but i noticed i got much much LOWER mileage and someone told me they water down their gas, so i've been going to another place now. i think i'm gonna stick w/ that place for at least the next fill up, so i'll have 3 numbers to compare...then i'll try soemthing like mobile and see if the numbers are higher.

heheh...i bet when people see that black avatar solara and then that gunman avatar alternating they just scroll down rolling their eyes... hahah. sorry guys!! i know ..i know!! take it to AIM!!

sooo..back on topic...i'm definitely gonna do one more fill up at the same place and then put the little extra $$ in at a name brand to test out to see what happens.

maybe we should start a thread where people post how many gallons they filled up, what brand/type gas, how many miles they got from it aprox, and what kinda driving they do ..i'd really be curious to see how all of our #s match up.

I used to get 8-11 mpg with my V8 Mustang GT convertible. Really sucked.

Before I put my Injen Intake on, I could get about 300 to 325 miles per full tank. But after I put my intake on, I noticed that I only get about 285 to 295 per fill up...lol however, since I got my supecharger installed on Friday...I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get less than that...oh wells, ya gotta get good with bad huh :P Sacrifices!!!!

Because your MAF is telling your engine to run rich. That's why I took off my Injen intake.

Wow, popular thread.

My 2 cents:
I average anywhere from 14 to 20 MPG city. I have a little highway miles thrown in when I go grocery shopping.

On longer trips (to NJ, to Boston, etc.) I have averaged as high as 33 MPG.

The i4 will be more efficient than the v6, and the sticks will be more efficient than the automatics. The latter has something to do with the torque converter.

Also, for Missay and Gunman---my beloved beleaguered NY Jets are owned now by Robert Wood Johnson IV, of Johnson and Johnson fame. Leon Hess' famous last words to then-coach Richie Kotite in the mid-90s was that he was a dying man, he wanted to see his Jets win before his time on earth was over. So the Jets proceeded to go 1-15.

Missay,

If you're really only getting 11 or so mpg, something is definitely wrong. I have a 5 speed V6 with S/C (along with exhaust and intake) and I never get less than 20 mpg. Even if most of my driving (time-wise) is on city streets, I get that. And I'm always playing around with the accelerator to check out how my S/C and lightened flywheel are working. On the freeways, the mileage gets closer to 30 mpg. I try not to get too heavy-footed while the engine is still warming up, as that tends to waste gas, not to mention setting off my check engine light. Anyway, as some other people here have suggested, keep checking your mileage. If that low mpg seems consistent, maybe you should have your car checked out. That really is pretty bad.
