o god..now that the dash is working, something else has to get screwed up!!

here's the new thing the car did when i was out earlier.

1) i stopped at the atm and took my keys, but kept it running w/ the car starter. from inside the car, the lock/unlock botton on the door would lock the doors, but not unlock it (so i sorta got stuck in the car, until i used the remote..then the unlock on the door worked)

2) i was leaving home depot and i started the car w/ the starter when i was walking cross the pklt. i opened the door and the car stalled out before i put the key in. so i pressed it again while i put my stuff in the car. i got in and put the key in and as i was putting my seatbelt on (yes! i started wearing my seatbelt everyday!! :P i'm paranoid now  ) the car stalled out again, but then restarted on it's own...kinda freaky. i went to put it in drive, but it was like it was axuliary(sp?) mode ..the check engine light and stuff was on. i turned the car off manually and turned it back on and it was fine.

too wierd..yesterday i was driving along and the doors randomly locked, unlock, and locked again. then the car was sitting in my drive way running w/ the car starter and it kept stalling out, then restarting itself.

my car is possessed!

how come the locks are actin' up?? did they integrate the locks with the car starter? that car starter unit is called....VALET right? they're made by DEI. (directed electronics) give 'em a call, bat your eyes, and flip your hair...get them to fix that sh!t.

yup, krooked, that's the one. i told my dad i didn't mind having two remotes, but he had them install one whole unit. so it's one remote for the locks/car starter. (left side locks/unlocks-right side starts/turns off...well when it works :))

krooked, do u know on that valet system, how far of a range should u get? i know gunman was saying it should go thru like buildings and stuff..and my dad said it was like 500yrds...but i can hardly start it at like a 10ft range. :o

so yur not gonna tell me
hehe..i didn't get a chance to call today (not sure if they're open tomorrow) but i'll see my dad tomorrow. he is a real jerk tho when it comes to me telling him a problem w/ my car. he thinks i'm the biggest idiot and that i don't know anything bout cars. (o god..i had a fight w/ him about tires..he told me it was impossible to get 18rims for my car..but boy did i get him good w/ tire sizes that i learned off of solaraguy!! hehe..u guys have taught me a lot!)

so, since i've learned so much about solaras he thinks i'm and idiot when i talk bout mods or a problem w/ the car. in other words..the more info i can give to him THE BETTER. cause i guarantee you when i tell him it's gonna be MY FAULT or something that i'm doing wrong w/ the car  lol..men

ok a few questions.............are you hitting the brake before you put your key into the run position?

when you remote start, does it take 2/3 attempts before it stays on?

what i do is press the button for like 3-5secs then release it. yea, it does take 2-3 attempts before it works..that's if it works..i have to get super close to the car.

as far as the brake..i don't press the brake cause it shuts the car off. if i car start it i just put the key in and turn it the two clicks, that's it.

ok so first off, they have the unit set for tachless, what that does is it allows them to program the unit to cranck the starter wire anywhere from .04 all the way up to like 2 seconds. They have the cranck time to low, they can simply increase the time or should properly go directly to the tach wire which is no big deal since they can catch it behind the glove box at the ecm. As far as your door locks, are you using your factory remote to lock and then trying your valet to unlock? Lastly as far as range, it might have or be pinched, running them up the camry side pillars is a pain in the aass, so they might have half assed it around.

nope..i've been using the valet to unlock it..i hang on to the factory remote tho just in case as a makeshift "spare key"

when you were talking bout the wiring, could that be why i have a poor range? and can wiring the frame cause any kinda water leakage in the car by the windshield?? would they have touched the back window at all?

thanks, for your help!!

front window, right behind the rearview mirror

i'm just wondering if my strange moisture on the front window has anything to do w/ the install? once though i had it on the back window, so i'm trying to figure out if the moisture is related to the starter, or something completely different.

well if the guy was rough and was jaming the wire inside the cracks you could cause some damage. do you have philip head screwdriver and 10mm bolt? if so take things apart and take pictures id love to see whats under there.
