Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

What's your ultimate performance goal for your Solara?

Haha, man I take turns rated at 35 over a hundred. Just trust the car and know what your doing. You may be amazed at what a solara can do. No bs either on that one.

Also, the car in all honesty is a complete beast at highspeeds. I know many of you never hit that area but at around 120 the car shines like nothing else. Eats gas like you would never believe also (I have dropped from the second mark to just under 1/2 tank in less than 8 miles before. Stock).

I have never had such a fun car. I have driven all sorts of cars but the gen 1 is just flat out the best. It looks good, can cruise it and its comfortable. I can tote people with me and when I want to i can flat out move it. Other people have been in my car and driven it and also tell me how amazed they are at the way it rides at high speeds. Slower my car is kinda umm, well you may loose some teeth on rougher roads. Laugh

I actually do know what you're talking about. I've taken the Solara (completely bone stock) to Buttonwillow Raceway and I managed to hit one of the banked turns there at ~ 90 mph. You're right, it is very capable at high speeds.

I'm talking more about the mountains where you can't really make a mistake. My friends can average about 60 - 70 mph, but the car just feels kinda jittery if I even try to go at 40 - 45 mph.

Guess I just need more balls or better suspension :P

Are you still stock? Mine is all replaced on the car all around but at the moment i am running on stock wheels after putting a bubble in my sidewall on my 19's. Gotta find a tire that holds up better than the Proxies. Managed to completely trash a clean clean set of wheels I bought off kenny. He sent me them and they were perfect. However after doing some slides on them and some places where the car dips down one side due to the angle of the road i raped the crap outta the lip and trashed the tires.

Perfect tread on the outside but the inside has wire showing due to nego camber that I am running. -2.0 almost (Just under it but forget what it really is. Eats tires like nothing but helps the car so much, plus I have so little travel on it now. The front really takes a huge beating due to it being so stiff. Heck, I have issues where one wheel will be in the air because it cannot come down. That part sucks. Got myself somewhat stuck on a curb cause of that.

When I went to Buttonwillow, I was completely stock (down to the crappy Michelin MXV-4s).

Now it's up to just a Whiteline RSB and an Injen. Trying to look for good deals on Tein/Tockicos right now though.

Funny story about my tires, only after about 5 months, they're down to the wear mark. And for some reason, the rear tires are showing camber wear

I only got a K&N drop-in under the hood, but I'm getting an Injen and hopefully a lot more soon. Anyway, usually when I go at a high speed, the car feels like it's gonna lose control when I make even the slightest of turns (e.g. at 115mph... I would've beat an Accord coupe that had LED tails that looked like a damned fly's eyes if I didn't feel as though I was going to spin out).

So, any suggestions? I have stock everything with a set of Kumho Ecsta HP4's that came with the car with 70% tread... Does shocks/sway bar take care of it, or do I just need to ignore it? I had cars I'd never race before the Solara (too old > too weak).

By the way Vampire, unless you're married to a guy, your wife is a Pinay, not Pinoy.
