What spacers did you get? For anything over a couple of milimeters thick, you should really consider longer studs as well, or your lug nuts may not hold as well as they are supposed to. With 5mm H&R spacers on the back, I replaced the rear studs with a set for the front - 5mm longer...

But, I keep getting two stories. Are you sure they will rub?

Where from?

Where did you get the 2mm spacers from and for how much? What is the center bore - is it bigger than the bore on the hubs (e.g. do they fit snug or they can move about before you put the rim)?

I want 2 or 3 mm, but could only find 5mm when I needed them... I got 5mm H&R on the back. I paid $60 for the pair, which is a lot but I wanted a good fit. Plus they came with new studs, which sell for about $4 each at Toyota, so the spacers alone were about $20.

The $7 spacers at PepBoyz looked scary and would not be hub-centric for a Camry...

robsatx1

here is how it is, a wheel has an offset. the more the offset the deeper the holes in the wheels where the wheels mount, so the DEEPER IT SITS in the wheel well.

THe lesser the offset, the shallow the holes are and so the wheel SITS SHALLOWER (more outer) in the wheel well

So, if you have 35 offset, with 17X8, your wheels MAY rub the FENDER since it will protrude out more. (outside part of the wheel will rub your fender). this can be solved by rolling the fenders and making more space for the wheels

Now, the original guy who started the post i think had 17 X 8.5 with an offset of 45... his wheels were sitting so deep in the well that they were rubbing the STRUT (inside part of wheel was rubbing) With spacers we forced the wheel to sit shallower and not rub the strut

so yea, there are 2 stories here since there are 2 scenarios.

hope this helps
