didn't.. the rings increase horse, and can handle a whole lot of boost, this doesn't mean that my engine can, its just that it would handle it better, and I would get better horse out of my engine rather than the stock rings...

Chrome rings were the problem...

Postby Raysot » Tue Apr 13, 2004 3:27 pm

I have rebuilt a few engines in my time, and it's always been recommended to never use chrome rings. They are notorious for not seating properly, too much blow-by and the chrome coating doesn't stick all that well, so once it is loose, it's loose inside the cylinder, creating all kinds of hate and discontent...

well, its a good thing you have a lawyer, a subpeona from the court will get you the required info from the shop. Make sure you get everything from the dealership in writing and save it all, that will help a ton! The more proof of foul play you have, and the more sources that say there's something wrong, the better

Just recieved word from Total seal that the scratching on the cylinder walls was caused by dirt or some material getting into the engine while it was being assembled... so.. we will see how toyota takes this... now everyone is scattering to try to avoid blame.. fun fun fun o how I enjoy this so much

talked to two more creditable sources and explained the situation, and both said that it was without a doubt the shop was the cause... And after next week I will have all the material that I need to start the legal process... Then its all up to the lawyers... And Im sure the shop can't contend w\ the lawyers that I know.. there rates are crazy... In the end of the year it works out to be around $350 or soemthing a hour.. crazy stuff... But anyway.. Ill keep everyone posted.. WISH ME LUCK!
