panels are pretty simple and straight forward to drop, then you remove an air duct and right behind your key cy. should be half of your connections the rest can be caught at by the fuse boxes.

light? the 552t comes with an off board led, that can be mounted to appeaar as an alarm, but only serves as programing guide. that means they dont have the handheld bit writter and programed it the old fashioned way :-? you have no idea how pissed i get when i see botched jobs like that :bad-words:

is this a private shop or big business? either way go back, let the owner know what problems your going through. second did they fill out any paper work as far as a check list as to what was working and not working in your car?

ummm..it's not a well known name if that's what you mean..so yea, i guess it's a private shop.

my dad took car of the whole thing, so he has all the info. he was unhappy w/ the srv tho cause they charged him on the bill w/ a grinder protector (i guess so i can't burn the starter by trying to start it by going past the two clicks when i put the key in the ignition)..but they never put the grind protector on. my dad said when he picked up the car, the lady at the front desk was like "oh, yea..they didn't put that on..whatever"...don't know why my dad didn't complain then, i don't think he realized that she didn't deduct the money.

i haven't talked to my dad yet..but i'm gonna print out this thread so i can give him proof that i'm not pulling this stuff outta my as* and that they really did screw the car up!

i thnk the total was like a little over $200. the anti grind (i think) was around $20-25 bucks..not sure tho.

thanks a bunch for all the info gunman!!
let me talk to my dad and see if he's cooperative w/ me or not! :) lol..he's stubborn, but a nice guy. he's one of those "i don't help" kinda guys..but hopefully i can get this shop take it out and refund it. if not i'll definitely take yur offer up!!

i'm talkin to my friend right now and he's laughing at me cause he said this is exactly what i wanted to avoid by not going to best buy.

what do i do now?

Postby Missay » Sun Dec 22, 2002 9:24 pm

i take back that $200 quote..i found out my dad paid more than that :o

what do i do now?? my dad refused to listen to me bout them half assing the job, so on sat all we did was drive to the place. of couse the car was acting up BIG time before we left, and of course when we got there it worked PERFECTLY! the guy thought i was insane, but he offered to take a look at it.

so they apparently "looked it over" and put the grind protector on it like they should have before. the guy said he changed the timer, and that seemed to help the car start faster and a little easier. i still left tho in doubt and disbelief that they fixed it.

so, what do i do now? i gave up on my dad, if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself!! back to reality, one little problem...if an 18yr old girl walks into a place that does all of these ricey mods to cars and she starts on all this jargon about how they half assed the job, they're gonna laugh in her face, hit on her, and talk to her like she's a ditz.

i'm just fustrated cause i want them to do it right! i just tested the starter again and it still has horrible range, it took several times for it to start, and when it did start it stalled right out

A. when you get there its gonna work fine cause the engine is still warn and some gas left in the lines. its when the engine cools down and you try to cold crank it is where tachless modes might have problems

B. the other day I had a viper that had pretty poor range, as soon as I replaced the antenna it worked alot farther

what you need to do is have them replace the antenna and switch the unit to tach mode. :)

so even tho they did the halfass job, replacing the atenna and doing tach mode should help? my mom talked to someone she knows that does installs and he said the same thing that you did, eric, bout them halfassing the job.

so, if i walk in there and complain that i'm still having the same range problem and i was told by some other installers that i my possibly need a new atenna and tach mode, would they laugh at me, or do it but charge me?

i'm just wondering what's the best/most efficent way to walk in there by myself and get the problem fixed once and for all.

think if i walk in there and say i want a full refund and want them to take it outta my car they would? i'd be pefrified to do that, cause even if they're nice and agree, they'd probably be pissed that they spent that much time and f*ck something up purposly in my car.
