Nice work. Good choice on the CM clutch, we're in the minority with running that. Much appreciation on documenting the process too!

The swap is still not done to my satisfaction...although the bulk of it is complete and the car is drivable. No one has ever really posted pics of the nitty gritty wiring (ewwww), so I thought I would post some more to load this thread with further information.

So you finish the swap and your still using the automatic engine harness and you want your pretty white reverse backup lights..? Not gonna happen unless you go to the junkyard, find a 5 speed toyota, and rip that plug right off of the manual harness.

Here is what I took off of an old toyota corolla.
Image

Image

Image

This is the plug that sits on top of the tranny for the reverse lights.
Image

You have to tap into the reverse light wires on the automatic harness. Snip them off the connector that you will no longer use as seen below...
Image

Image

The colors are red/blue stripe and red/black stripe. The corresponding manual plug wires will match up and to the reverse light wires on the auto harness.
Image

Be careful and use a crimper to strip the wires and to set the connector in place. Soldering it im sure would be much better but I dont have one nor know how to use it :(
Image

Image

Then I taped it up with electrical tape to protect the wiring from nature's elements.
Image

Shot from above of my dirty ass engine bay with the tranny resting in its new home. It will get cleaned this summer...rest assured

nice...I swapped my tranny 3 years ago now almost, and I have the 5-speed reverse harness sitting around and still haven't gotten around to slicing it in lol
