if you do a search, you'll find that most people will recommend you to do it yourself. I myself have posted some instructions on how to do ALL that, but when i did an estimate on my car for all 4 wheels, it came to over $300.... that's when i decided to do it myself.

If it's your first time, do one side at a time to have something to reference it to, in order to put it back the correct way. I have not changed rotors for my 04 Solara yet. However, I've changed it on my camry and mx-3. The first time took about 1:30 minutes. Thereafter, was much easier.

I'm guessing here, but do steel braided brake lines increase pressure in the brake lines by being less flexible when applying the brakes?

not necc increase pressure, but doesn't flex comparing to stock brake lines.

in the process after upgrading, you get a better response brake feel, which i know feels a lot better and more secure.

Do the steel brake lines make your brakes operate as if they were all or nothing? My friend replaced his lines with steel on his car and he said you gotta be real careful with the pressure you apply. A little dosent fully apply the brakes, but if you push too hard your head is through the windshield it stops so fast.

So what Im asking is, do you lose the linear feel the stock brakes have?

what car does your friend have?

that does not sound correct. (all or none braking.)

perhaps he just stomped on the brakes too hard that time.

with our cars having the upgrade, gives the braking a little better response and a firmer brake once more foot pressure is engaged.

For more info on SSBL just do a quick search, but as TRDmole said they increase response and give a firmer pedal feel.

Under high pressure, rubber brake lines expand a little resulting in a loss of braking power. SSBL do not expand nearly as much therefore you get instant pedal response and a firmer brake. However, it does not decrease the smooth brake feel of the solara

Okay back to the topic. Here's all the rotors and brake pads under 'Solara' on ebay:

O yeah and watch out for so called "Brembo Cross Drilled and Slotted" Rotors. Brembo does not make those. Brembo only makes them either Cross Drilled or Slotted. Not both. An aftermarket company modifies the rotor and resells them under the Brembo name. This comes from Brembo themselves.

Here is there 2004 catalogue... See page 57-58 for the part numbers available for Toyota Camry and Solara
