Brake Pads?

Postby yamato » Mon Aug 02, 2004 6:05 am

Hey guys,

I went to Autozone to look for Brake Pads on my 03 SE V6. They told me that they have ceramic pads only for the front and not the rear. Don't I want ceramic for all 4 wheels? If so, which brake pads are recommended?

Thx,
yamato

Gimme more!

Postby yamato » Mon Aug 02, 2004 8:27 am

Ya, went through everywhere on this site... it seems like people luv the EBC Green Stuff, as long as I don't mind Rotor wearing off a little quicker. Now, here's my next one. I can NEVER get what fits mine and what doesn't....

WHERE can I get 'em? I hate the shops that doesn't have Solara, but it'll say Camry. Can someone tell me in a dummy-proof way like "Go to http://some.site.com/brakes and choose the ones for 01 Camry" or something like that?

Thx

Not Autozone in Illinois

Postby yamato » Mon Aug 02, 2004 9:06 am

Autozone in NorthWest Illinois don't carry them. They have some generic ceramic for fronts and Organic ones for rears.

Rear?

Postby yamato » Mon Aug 02, 2004 9:29 am

Tirerack.com looks great. Thanks!
My other question is still unanswered tho.... EBC green front is sold at tirerack.com, but rear is not. Should I just use the Akebono rear??

Pepboys is caring EBC stuff now. They might have them, not sure on the backs, someone in that thread I popped up there said they were making the back pads green now too. Hmmmm maybe you should give them a call at the rack.

Went with Akebono Ceramic

Postby yamato » Mon Aug 02, 2004 12:57 pm

Thanks for all the advice...I ended up going with Akebono Ceramic so that I can standarize front and back with the same ones.

Thanks all. Maybe I'll take my digital camera and add it to DIY.
