Hey welcome to Solara guy and good luck!

Yeah dont drive too fast usually means nothing over 55-60mph. The engine is new and requires a "break-in" period. This is probably the most important thing you can do for the car to insure a smooth running, longest lasting care-free driving. Since the engine is new all the parts have to "mesh" with each other. CHange the oil too! Tiny pieces of metal will fall off from the "mating" of the engine components and get mixed up in the engine oil. Change the oil at around 1000 miles.

SO which trim do you get? SE, SEV6, SLE? What color is it? :)
Had a 99 Solara SE V6. Had a 06 Tacoma. Now I have a 2008 Camry SE V6

That's correct. Don't drive fast (only up to 60mph) and do not bring the RPMs above 3K.

Most I've ever heard about is premature engine wear... Better safe than sorry I guess.

If you don't break a car in correctly Missay, you'll have problems... not necessarily mechanical ones either... you'll be "marked" by the police and you'll be getting pulled over for 2 mph over the speed limit, yellow lights will be shorter (& red ones longer), when there's road construction ahead the lane you're in will ALWAYS be the slowest, accidents will occur ahead of you rather than behind, often the brake lights on the car in front of you won't be working, there'll be more uphill roads than downhill, "little old ladies" will seem to go out of their way to be the car in front of you, other drivers will fail to use their turn signals... etc.

So, you see. breaking in an engine correctly is crucial to a car's "destiny" - not to mention the overall "driving experience" of its owner.
