Security key for the TRD Rims

Security key for the TRD Rims

Postby Yanks0114 » Sun Aug 08, 2004 9:32 pm

I recently had my tires swapped on my car. Now I can't find the security key to my lugs.

I have the TRD rims (TSW rims) and they came with lugs.

Any idea who or where I should call to get a replacement? Also I don't have any numbers to figure out what key I do have, I don't think it came with any documentation.

Thanks in advance.

email TRD or ask toyota, say you lost the key.

thats the first step.

i know Longo Toyota over here deals with Discount tire. so the local wheel distributor is your next place to go.

we deal with this a lot...

Go to a dealer and let them know you lost the key. THey can figure out which key is used, and order you one.

I was in the same boat for my ES.....Lexus wanted 25 bucks for a new wheel lock set (ie. lugs+key) and wanted 12 bucks for a new key. I just decided to get a new set..went to one of those mom&pop shops (latino shops) and they used an airtool to spinopen the locks for 10 bucks (w/o any damage to wheels). If i find the key in the future..i'll just sell that set!

Thanks for everyones help. I got it by calling TRD. They told me that the lugs were McGards. I contacted McGards and paid the $15 fee for the replacement key.

Thanks again

Thank you very much.

I'm hoping I got the right one. Our OEM lugs/locks weren't made by McGard were they?
