Yeah, ebay is cheap for the keyless remotes. Just make sure you get the one that matches your car.

I've got a 2000 SLE V6 w/ the remotes, so you should probably look for this FCC ID: GQ43VTI4T

Here is a guy selling 10 of them at a decent price:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 7915921987
Found a couple others that might be a few bucks cheaper, but they didn't have FCC IDs listed in the auctions (just do a search for Toyota Solara Remote)

Don't get the version that's out there w/ the trunk release. The 2000s weren't wired for it.

For the transponder key you will have to go through the dealer.

ok, what about programming hte keyless tho. i found some instructions on the net that involve locking/unlocking doors and turning the key, etc. has anyone tried this to see if it works? and can i buy a blank transponder key off ebay as well and get it programmed at the dealer (they want 45 for hte key and 30 to program it).

didn't see any true Toyota keys on ebay, only the aftermarket ones. I would stick w/ the OEM stuff personally.

best of luck programming things, I don't have a clue

hey guys, i need some more help. does anyone know how to determine whether the car is equipped with keyless entry? i have the security light in the dash, and also a small red button below the left side of the steering wheel, near the fuse box and coin try. i havent tried messing with that button because i dont want to trip my alarm.

so i looked online and found instructions for programming the solara keyless entry remotes on your own, but i cant seem to get it to work. there are two parts, the first part is just with your car, and you do all this stuff to get it to enter programming mode. then you go ahead and hit some buttons on the remote to get it to activate. but i cant even get my car to enter the programming mode, so that's why im not sure if its even equipped with keyless. so if anyone has any insight as to how to figure out whether my car has keyless, or if anyone can try and see if the instructions below actually work for them, that would be great!

Use this procedure only for the vehicle or vehicles that it was purchased for.

2000 - 2002 Camry
1. Start with the following conditions:
a. Key Is out of the ignition.
b. Driver door is open (all other doors are closed).
c. Driver door is unlocked (other door locks don't matter).
2. Insert the key into the ignition (don't turn it) and pull it out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver's door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. A
lock/unlock cycle consists of pressing the power lock switch, followed by pressing the power unlock switch on the driver's door panel. Use an even pace and try to go relatively fast.
b. Close, then open the drivers door.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Using the power lock/unlock switch on the driver's door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock (just as
you did previously).
b. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine), then back to OFF.
c. Turn the ignition to ON (as far as you can go without cranking your engine), then back to OFF.
d. Remove the key from the Ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) automatically Indicating successful entry into
programming mode. Return to Step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for 1 second.
b. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, hit the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle (lock then unlock) once indicating successful programming. If the
door locks don't cycle, or cycle twice, repeat steps 6a and 6b - this remote has not been accepted.
c. Repeat steps 6a and 6b for each transmitter that will operate the vehicle, including any old transmitters.
7. Close driver door.
