engine start problem

Postby SolaraTypeR » Tue Aug 24, 2004 2:12 pm

Ok! Like i've said before, I've started to put parts into my solara. The kit and rims are on their way and I'm working on the looks part rite now.

I used to have the reverse indiglow gauges, but they blew on me. so i've decided to changed the 194 bulbs into 194R's. it came out pretty nice (if u guys wanna see pix i'll post it..) BUT there's a huge problem rite now. when my car starts, the engine sound like it's struggling to do so. it feels like the battery is dying, out of nowhere~!!! why would this happen?? when i start the engine, it's either a really slow start or this cranking noise from the engine (sounds like there is a jack hammer under the hood..) i'm confused as hell~!! please help me~!!

sorry.. i posted this posting in the wrong section earlier.. i didn't notice till now..

Please state if your car is 4 cylinder or v6. How did you remove the reverse glow gauge? Did you use tape to cover up those wires you cut or splice? Do you have intake or other engine mod? did you have engine wash or something like that

i have a v6 se (2000). the thing is, i didn't splice anything. i just plugged the wires into the plugs behind the dash. i did not do any sort of engine mod yet. the only thing i did open up the filter box earlier today to see if the K&N drop-in fits. thanx.

I think you didnt close the airbox tight. OR there is a little cone device on the airbox fall onto the filter element. that happened to me before
