Stock airbox snorkel

Ok, a few months ago i took out my airbox snorkel to see if it made a difference in any gains what so ever. Now i just dropped in an K&N air filter into my stock intake box. Will i lose any HP since i took out my snorkel for my airbox. I was thinkin of taking it out anyways[the snorkel]. All it has done it made the intake louder, when i hit the gas the air intake is louder. Do you guys think i'm losing HP from my car if i took out the airbox snorkel??

are you talking about the resonator tank/box?... thats in teh bumper, up under the wheel well? I doubt it would loose horse, it WOULD make the intake louder, but the only reason you would be loosing horse, would be because its pulling hotter air... but I doubt it would be that big of a difference.. the intake would be more free flowing because its gone tho

SC V6 is right on. That piece is there to make the intake quieter. Taking it out should allow more air to get in and the K&N filter helps even more. That should also result in more hp rather than less. The fact that it is closed off and still getting the air through the fender should allow it to get cooler air from outside of the engine compartment. -JoeB
