Maximum allowable speeds for a standard:
gear 1: 32 mph
gear 2: 57 mph
gear 3: 91 mph
Recommended shifting speeds:
1 to 2: 15 mph
2 to 3: 25 mph
3 to 4: 40 mph
4 to 5: 45 mph
Maximum allowable speeds for an automatic:
L: 42 mph
2: 77 mph
These are from page 102 to 105 on my 2001 owners manual.
