CEL Question?

For those who have had the CEL lights light on in their car. Did the CEL blink a few times before it was constantly on....or did it just light up and stay on. I know CEL's could be cus of anything(o2 sensors, bad gas, not so tight gas cap, etc). The thing was lastnight all of a sudden...when i floored my imz, the CEL light started blinking (i'm guessing 20-30 times which felt like forever before i stopped)...yeah BLINKING...i checked everything and all seemed good and started the car. the CEL stayed on this time. When at home, i just unpluged the -ive and stated her this morning..and CEL was gone. I've had CEL's on my ES before..but its never "BLINKED". Hence my question?

when I blew my knock sensor the CEL blinked.. as well as the ABS light... u better get the code checked out just to be safe

when the cel blinks, its not good.

there is some type of mechanical failure.

mine blinked and turned out that the spark plug was not set in correctly, thus having the car run on 5 cylinders.

I'm waiting for the CEL to come back again, thus far added another 80 miles since yesterday (city + highway) nothing yet after resetting ECU, keeping fingers crossed! Eithercase, i'm glad i still have extended warranty!
