TPS and Shock question

TPS and Shock question

Need help here!..
The check engine light has been on for a while. Today, I went to Autozone and had them check it for me. The guys told me it was the TPS, throuttle position sensor that need to be replaced. Anyone had the same experience? Can I DIY it?
Also, my front passenger side started to have this strange noise recently when I was cruising, but can only be heard from inside of the car. I thought it was from the shock, then I took the wheel off and nothing seemed was wrong. Today, on my way back from Autozone, I was driving normally, the noise suddenly became very loud and the steering wheel started shaking. When I got home, I checked the shock by shaking the right front side up and down and guess what? It didnt move a bit. The height was normal so I think the spring is alright. It's been roughly 2 months since I first notice the noise. Is it a blown shock or anything else?
Please help.... :(
